OUIJA is about necromancy. rembering the dead can provide an emotional and moral justification for locking yourself in a particular narrative, and it has the power to strip the living of their humanity in order to legitimize violence towards them. i am afrarid of sanctifying death, the land and the nation over life and humanity.
stop the wars, stop the occupation of gaza and the west bank, stop the violence towards and the killing of innocent people.
the piece was written in april 2024, after the killing of seven volunteers of WCK (world central kitchen) organisation in gaza.
